Red Letter Truth

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV)

He says this is why He came. 
Truth written bright so I can’t miss it. 
Red letters in my bible. 

How do I say thank you? How do I give praise enough? There is only one way, and that is to live life well. Aware of the reason why, aware of abundance cost. 

To give Him praise I rejoice in what I already have. 
This life abundant. 
Eyes wide in gratitude at the reason why He came. 
And died. 

Aware of each blessing, grateful and content with what already is. 

Blessings counted, named and raised. 

Gratitude honors Him.

Living life well honors Him.

Grateful intention honors Him. 

Where you are now, this place you call home, these friends you hold, clothes you wear, pets and possessions – all of it gifts. All of it abundance. All of it part of the reason.

I will live this day well to honour the one who gave it. Who came so that I might have a more abundant life. 

I will not pin my hope and joy on tomorrow. I will not pine for what is not already given. 

The abundant life is right now. This day. The abundant life is already given. It is not tomorrow’s promise (that is something else entirely).

The life He came to give. The life He died that we might live. 
This day. 
This very moment sweet and real. 

And I will live it well for that is the best way to say thank you.

Yes. 
By living well this day, the one He died for. The one He named abundant.
